Upholstery Fabrics used by Bruce Jack

We have a large range of sample books from major fabric suppliers such as Kirkby House, Linwood, Morris & Co, Robert Allen, Romo, Sanderson, Wemyss etc. Some pictures from their current ranges are available, below, and samples from Mr Jack's portfolio are here.

Customers are welcome to visit our showroom and view sample fabrics and discuss with Mr Jack what best suits the proposed job. We can order material for you if you wish. Bruce Jack can bring the shoddiest of items of old furniture back to pristine condition - see the "before and after" pictures, below.

There is a need to make some important comments about upholstery fabrics. Traditional upholstery fabrics are made to hold their shape and to be hardwearing - ask about their scores in the Martindale or Wyzenbeek tests (rub tests that score the abrasion resistance of materials). They also have to meet fire regulations (BS5852, part 1, B and H for the home, part 2, BH5, for commercial use). The length of cloth you bought in a closing down sale may seem just right to you, but it could look baggy after a short period of use, or it might wear out very quickly, or invalidate your home's fire insurance policy: all these are potentially expensive options.

Many of the patterns available have matching, themed, or complementary wallpapers and curtain materials.

A wide selection of appropriate leathers can be obtained from specialist suppliers, such as Andrew Muirhead.

We also supply cushion inserts, foam, webbing and other DIY supplies.

Please telephone the workshop before visiting to ensure someone is there to greet you.
